We became an independent company formed by the merger of five entities. While our official founding was in 1990, many of our predecessor firms had distinguished histories dating back more than 120 years.
Since then, more than 50 companies have joined us and, in 2007, we became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange.

EJ Smith Construction Company, LLC is a DFW Metroplex based Construction Manager / General Contractor with in-house self-performing concrete capabilities in both the Commercial Building and Civil-Heavy Highway sectors. Since its inception in 2010, EJ Smith Construction has successfully grown its business to include sectors that span across multiple business segments.
EJ Smith’s professional services are provided in the capacities of both prime contractor and subcontractor to private and government entities. Our areas of expertise: General Construction, Construction Management, Concrete Construction, Cost Control, Scheduling, Field Management, Contract Administration, Claim Avoidance, Design Team Coordination, Project Administration, Estimating, Budgeting, and Quality Control. EJ Smith Construction manages the construction process from preconstruction to project close-out. We are also responsible for document control, accounting, scheduling and other pertinent office management responsibilities as well as providing for all the material, labor, equipment, and services necessary for the construction of the client’s project. We hire specialized subcontractors to perform all or portions of the construction work. As the general contractor, EJ Smith Construction ensures that a project will be completed successfully.
